Purple Obsession
Monday, August 13th, 2007Recently, last Thursday night, a couple of us skipped our gym session, and went for a much anticipated event (by the girls) which was a performance by Ungu.
They had Newboyz (that’s right) and Sofaz as their opening act for the night. And we came in during Sofaz’s last performance. Personally, I do like some of their songs. Yang asyik diputarkan di radio. But definitely not their video clips. Its almost horrible.
The leading man, I’m not so sure what his name is, I like his voice. And although honestly, I didn’t understand almost everything that came out from his mouth when he is not singing, but I can see that he enjoyed himself very much, and trying to make it a point that, indeed, Indonesian bands and Malaysian bands are friends. Again and again and again, ‘kita ga berseteru, bisa? kita semua sahaaaa..?’ dan disambung oleh semua seperti kanak-kanak sekolah ‘…baaaaaaaat’. (including us).
OK, I have to admit, I only listen to songs that they played on the radio, so among some of the songs that I recognized, that they did perform that night, would be Demi Waktu, Kekasih Gelapku, something-something Melayang, and my favourite would be Tercipta Untukku. A couple of other songs as well which sounded good, but I never heard of it before.
All in all, it was a nice event. And we (another friend and I) were they merely as the chaperons to 9 girls. Also, pre-concert, they would do this emailing back and forth (because everyone is just too far from one another), sending in the songs, discussing on the lyrics and the band members, which is fun to read, since I am in the mailing list. Sometimes I do respond, sometimes I just smile reading it.
And hey, I think I saw Mawi at the concert.
